The School of Allied Health is one of nine schools within the College of Science, Health and Engineering. The School comprises the Department of Community and Clinical Allied Health and the Department of Rehabilitation, Nutrition and Sport. This position sits within the Discipline of Dietetics and Human Nutrition in the Department of Rehabilitation, Nutrition and Sport.
The Position
The purpose of this position is as follows:
  • Lead and contribute substantially to the development and delivery of the Bachelor of Food and Nutrition delivered through Open Universities Australia.
  • Contribute to the range of offerings for dietetics and human nutrition courses with both local and international partners (currently Open Universities Australia and Chinese University of Hong Kong).
  • Contribute to the dietetics and human nutrition team's commitment to provide online and blended learning methods for delivery of teaching..
The candidate
You will possess demonstrated evidence of the following:
  • Completion of a PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas.
  • Demonstrated capability in teaching and curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated capacity to supervise honours and postgraduate students.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of current and new teaching methods and pedagogies.
  • High level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team in a co-operative and collegial manner.
  • Demonstrated high level of self-motivation and personal management skills.
