LISMORE SOUTH OUTSIDE SCHOOL HOURS CARE

Position:
OSHC Service Coordinator – Permanent Part-time.
Monday to Friday during School Term, 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
Monday to Friday during School Holidays, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm (shifts range from 6hrs to 10 hrs)
Additional 2 hours per week administra
tion time during school term.

Responsible to:
Northern Rivers Childcare Services Inc Chief Executive Officer

Supervised by:
School Principal and NRCS OSHC Supervisor. This is a single worker service (average 10 children per day). Two workers in vacation care (20 children per day).

Award:
Children's Services Award 2010 classifications;
Level 5.1 - 5.3 Coordinator OSHC ($24.79-$25.51 p/h)  plus Super & Leave.

Qualifications:
No formal qualification is required. Students currently studying primary school education, Certificate III or Diploma in children's services, or Cert IV  in OSHC services preferred.
Duties:

1. Qualify for Certified Supervisor status under the Education and Care Services National Law.
2. Fulfil the relevant requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations.
3. Fulfil the relevant Award Classification definitions and duties.
4. Implement the relevant curriculum framework for OSHC services.
5. Plan and record a range of age appropriate experiences and activities for the school children.
6. Apply School policies in relation to child behaviour and safety.
7. Set-up and pack away daily activities and leave facilities in a clean and tidy condition.
8. Maintain accurate enrollment and attendance records of children in care.
9. Collect and receipt childcare fees.
10. Ensure children are properly supervised at all times, and that only authorised persons collect children from care.
11. Ensure the safety and well being of children in care.
12. During School holidays, plan & present Vacation Care activities as directed by CEO.
13. Attend day time staff meetings at the Lismore office (paid) as required.
14. Any other duties as required by the CEO within the scope of the position.
15. Possess and maintain a current approved first aid qualifications.
16. Direct staff effectively to fulfill their duties and the aims of the Service.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

1. Prior work experience in the care of children.
2. Sensitivity to children's needs, provide positive guidance and ensure children's safety.
3. Current approved first aid qualifications.
4. Current NSW Drivers License.
5. Satisfactory Working With Children Check (i.e. not be a Prohibited Person).
6. A good level of physical fitness adequate for participation in sports activities.
7. An ability to work independently and responsibly.
8. Have basic computer skills.
9. Be able to maintain accurate enrollment records, collect fees and report to our Accountant.
10. Develop a positive cooperative relationship with School Principals, teachers and parents.
11. Good interpersonal & communication skills.
12. Proven ability to provide children with a range of stimulating and suitable activities.
13. Provide evidence of suitability by 2 relevant work references / referees.

PREFERRED SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Prior work experience in Outside School Hours Care Services.
2. Prior leadership experience in program planning, policy development & Accreditation.
3. Relevant short courses completed.
4. Small Bus drivers license
5. Residential proximity to OOSH service (Lismore NSW)
