The Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA) is a Commonwealth statutory body engaged in a wide range of service delivery functions to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the Torres Strait Region.

rogramme is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, enthusiastic and motivated person to fill the following non-ongoing vacancy until 30 June 2018:

*SALARY RANGE $73,267- $84,161 P/A

The Regional Landcare Facilitator (RLF) works with limited direction from the Project Manager (Land) in providing support to rangers and the community within the Torres Strait in land management activities.  The RLF is focused on engaging and supporting the Torres Strait community and natural resource users in sustainable land management activities, including Landcare activities and assisting in the delivery of community-based environmental projects. 

Based on Thursday Island, the Regional Landcare Facilitator drives the delivery of initiatives covering aquatic and terrestrial biodiversity, land assessment, invasive species control, sustainable horticulture, revegetation, and environmental education. 

Significant projects within the RLFs responsibility include the sustainable horticulture project, coastal mangrove monitoring project, freshwater wetlands initiative, and additional ancillary activities.

*Generous allowances are paid on top of the salary listed above.  Allowances include district allowance, leave fare allowance (payable after 12 months of service) and housing subsidy.  Superannuation is paid at 15.4%.
