The Fundraising Team is responsible for generating essential funds for WMB’s programs and services. Grants from private, corporate and government organisations are part of WMB’s fundraising activities. A new Grants Officer position has been created due to growth in the Fundraising Team. The Grants Officer will work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to secure funding.

This role will suit someone with excellent communication skills who is experienced in writing grant or tender applications. Your time management skills and attention to detail will ensure quality applications and acquittal reports are submitted on time to a range of funding private, corporate and government funding organisations. Your experience of working to deadlines will be an advantage, as will previous experience working in a large complex organisation, ideally in the not for profit or government sectors.

In this role you will:
  • Maintain the Grants Wish List in line with WMB requirements and ensure its ongoing relevance through monthly updates to the Grants and Tender Advisor
  • Provide administrative support to the Grants Committee
  • Maintain a schedule of grants and planned applications through regular review of government and non-government grant information sources and keep the schedule updated with all grant activity
  • Manage grant applications in line with current project plans, processes and policies developed by the Grants and Tender Advisor relating to the management of grant applications.
  • Submit grant applications and engage with funders to establish positive relationships, profile WMB and its strategic objectives and to ensure best practice funder stewardship
  • Liaise with key WMB stakeholders to ensure that only the highest quality grant applications are prepared, in accordance with the relevant frameworks, funder guidelines, WMB plans and best practice
  • Work with WMB stakeholders to ensure successful grant applications are recorded in WMB systems and to monitor the progress of grant funded projects
  • Prepare timely and thorough grant acquittal reports to meet funders’ requirements
