Head of Senior School at Seymour College – Permanent
The Head of Senior School at Seymour College is returning to his overseas home to live.  Consequently the College is seeking expressions of interest for this permanent role, commencing 2016.
Seymour College is a leading independent girls' school with an established reputation for academic excellence and a commitment to helping students flourish through the principles of positive psychology.  Our vision is to foster young women of strength, optimism and justice. Our
aim is to inspire within each student a passion for life-long learning, a celebration of community and a quest for personal excellence.
Seymour College is divided into three schools on one site at Glen Osmond.  The three schools are as follows:
  • Junior School (including The Early Years at Seymour)  Early Childhood to Year 5;
  • Middle School - Years 6 to 9;
  • Senior School - Years 10 to 12.
The Head of Senior School sits on the College Leadership Team and reports to the Director of Studies and is responsible for the pastoral care of the Senior Students. 
The main responsibilities of the Head of the Senior School are as follows:
  • Leadership of the senior pastoral care program
  • Maintaining the high standards of student behaviour
  • Administration of the School's operations
  • Support of the Student Leadership Team
  • Managing the transition of students from Middle to Senior School
  • Managing the transition of International Students to Seymour College
  • Promotion of the School within the College community
  • Promotion of the College to the wider community
  • College leadership responsibilities including involvement in campus events
  • Teaching
Knowledge and Experience required:
  • A broad knowledge of the development needs of adolescents and young women
  • Experience in the SACE Program
  • South Australian Teacher registration or eligible to be registered
  • Knowledge of or experience in positive education
  • Knowledge of or experience in Visible Learning.
