Youth Focus,Finance Officer Jobs in Australia



(12 month contract)
Youth Focus is a West Australian independent Not for Profit organization for the prevention of youth suicide, depression and self-harm. We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer on a 12 month contract to support the Finance & Corporate Services team to ensure smooth processing of financial transactions including receivables, payments, and bank reconciliations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Accounts Payable:

  • Collate Accounts Payable documentation including Purchase Order and Invoice matching and ensure appropriate approval and coding of expenditure.
  • Entry and payment of Invoices on a weekly basis
  • Contact point for supplier accounts receivable departments
  • Reconcile relevant Accounts Payable clearing accounts
Accounts Receivable
  • Receive and process requests for invoices in a timely manner
  • Daily recording and banking of cash and cheques received
  • Reconcile Cash Management and Cheque accounts and Record all EFT and Credit Card receipts on a weekly basis.
  • Manage outstanding debtor accounts including producing monthly aged debtors balance and liaising with the business team
Month End:
  • Bank Account reconciliation
  • BAS related accounts to prepare workings for submission to ATO
  • Month end journals or other requests as required from the Financial Controller
Required Experience and Knowledge
  • At least 2 years' experience in a finance role
  • High level financial data entry and processing skills
  • High level of computer literacy and proficiency with accounting software, financial databases and Microsoft office applications
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
Other Position Relevant Requirements
  • 'C' class driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
  • National Police Clearance (Criminal records check).
Desirable Criteria and Personal Attributes
  • Minimum Cert IV in Book-keeping or Finance
  • Previous experience with MYOB
  • Previous experience and understanding of Non-Government Organisations and the Not for Profit sector
