Aquinas College is a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice Tradition servicing in excess of 1,300 local, country and international boys.  Aquinas College has a rich history within Western Australia education and a reputation of producing outstanding young men.
Aquinas College is seeking a passionate, dynamic and innovative, Boarding House Supervisor who demonstrates previous experience in a similar role with an ongoing commitment to professionalism and a desire to make a difference. This role forms part of an inclusive, supportive and high performing team, within a values based environment, reporting to the Deputy Principal Boarding.
Position Purpose:
To inspire boys to be the "best they can be." This will be undertaken in accordance with the College's Vision, Mission, Values and educational processes. The Boarding Supervisor will role model College Values and expected behaviours, will foster a sense of community, will deliver academic mentoring, nurturing and character development, to all boys in residence.
Successful Candidate
Credentials
To be successful in this role you will have the following credentials:
  • Qualifications in Residential Care and/or Duty of Care or equivalent;
  • Qualifications in Occupational Safety and Health;
  • Hold or be prepared to obtain a Senior First Aid Certificate or equivalent;
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check card
  • Gain a satisfactory National Police clearance;
  • Have Australian visa work rights;
  • Have or be prepared to obtain Accreditation to Work in a Catholic school, or equivalent;
  • Have or be prepared to undertake Mandatory Reporting training;
  • Hold or be prepared to obtain a Bronze Medallion; and
  • Hold a satisfactory Driver's Licence and be willing to gain a bus /charter vehicle licence (F-Extension).
Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following:
  • Active support for the Edmund Rice Charism, Edmund Rice schooling, Catholic ethos and the College Mission;
  • Prior experience dedicating time and energy, supervising , working with and supporting residential students;
  • Leadership experience gained in a similar role ;
  • Sound interpersonal and influencing skills, enabling harmonious and respectful relationships with students, parents and colleagues;
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player or autonomously; and
  • Strong communication, organisation and time management skills.
