The Faculty of Sciences is one of five faculties at the University of Adelaide. Following a generous donation, the Faculty of Sciences is now calling for applications for Ramsay Fellowships from outstanding early-career researchers. The Ramsay Fellowships are fixed-term positions for a period of four years full-time equivalent and are intended for candidates who have demonstrated significant research potential in their early post-doctoral years. Early-career Australian scientists currently working overseas are particularly encouraged to apply.
As further outlined in the Ramsay Fellowships Scheme Guidelines & Criteria document 2015_Ramsay_Fellowship_Criteria_and_Application_Guidance.pdf , Fellowships may be taken up within one of the four Schools in the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Adelaide, and the application must be accompanied by a letter of support from the relevant Head of School including identification of the senior academic staff member who will act as the direct supervisor and mentor for the applicant. Salary: Academic (Level A/ B) $62,112 - $105,371 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% may apply.
Term of position: This fixed-term position is available to commence in 2016 (start date negotiable) for a period of 4 years.
Position requirements
To be successful in these positions, you should have:
  • A PhD or equivalent higher degree awarded within the last eight (8) years, or equivalent research experience in the relevant area
  • an outstanding research record (see Fellowship Guidelines & Criteria for more detail)
  • The ability to maintain an active and innovative research program
  • The ability to supervise and motivate research students
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Australian citizenship at the time of application.
