Senior ITS Operations Engineer

The QLD Senior ITS Operations Engineer supports the QLD ITS Operations Manager through tasking, priority management and day-to-day supervision of the ITS Operations team, including mentoring, on the job training and direct technical support when required.

The Senior ITS Operations Engineer is part of a highly motivated and specialised technical team, responsible for the monitoring, support, maintenance and minor upgrade of QLD asset Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

These systems are a crucial link in the generation of revenue, management and control of operational risk, ensuring the smooth flow of traffic and the maintenance of Transurban’s reputation as a world class operator of tollways.


To be successful in this position, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

Essential
  • Thorough understanding and demonstrable experience in Electrical and Electronic Systems support and maintenance.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated capability to communicate and liaise with end users and external suppliers.
  • Extensive experience in the maintenance of critical systems.
Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to establish document records and maintain such records.
  • Experience in the maintenance of critical systems’
  • Proficient in the use of computer systems and complex diagnostic tools’
  • Experience in development and maintaining of Quality systems.
  • Experience in conducting presentations or On the Job Training.
  • Experience in the supervision and tasking of less knowledgeable staff
Qualifications
  • Electrical and Electronics trade experience
  • Tertiary or TAFE qualifications in Electrical/Electronic serQlding
  • Qualified at post secondary or tertiary or level in a relevant discipline OR
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualifications gained at a registered institution.
