About the Role
The Plumbing and Water Industry Services Business Area at Chisholm covers both the Plumbing and Water Industries. The Plumbing area delivers Certificate II, III and IV in Plumbing Services along with Plumbing Registration exams for the Victorian Building Authority. This area is mainly apprenticeship delivery and is key to the department’s success. Plumbing is delivered over three campuses; Dandenong, Berwick and Frankston. The Water Industry comprises of a number of small regional, large metropolitan and interstate water authorities. This training comprises mainly Fee for Service activity, with a smaller proportion of government funding and is based at our Cranbourne campus offering Certificate II, III, IV and V in Water Operations. Overall, the Business Area manages 1000 plumbing apprentices and 300 pre and post trade students

The primary purpose of the Senior Educator 2 is to provide educational leadership and management to the Plumbing and Water Industry Services area through leading the implementation of Chisholm’s teaching standards and delivery modes, overseeing the development, delivery and resourcing of new courses, growing the business income streams/revenue and improving the Business Area’s profitability through a focus on cost control, return on investment, and efficient operations. The Senior Educator will lead the development of responsive, innovative educational solutions for students and other clients and will support Chisholm in implementing innovative program design and delivery (blended and online modes), curriculum development, teaching and assessment activity that is educationally sound and appropriately accredited and recorded.

The role has a strong internal focus on the delivery of innovative and creative programs and activities for clients (students and industry). It also has carriage for nurturing relationships with relevant Industry and community stakeholders such as Industry/ Industry, Skills Councils, Curriculum Maintenance Managers, government and business to achieve growth and deepen the commercial relevance and Lead strategies to support students such as, student mentor programs and work preparation programs, study skills support, alternative delivery and assessment methodologies and communication strategies.

Skills and Experience
As the successful candidate you will have:
  • TAE40110 (Cert IV Training and Assessment)
  • TAE50111 Diploma VET
  • Vocational qualifications relevant to or above the level required for any current teaching and Business Area requirements along with industry currency
  • An understanding of current developments and contemporary approaches in education pedagogy
  • Experience developing innovative educational delivery to target and meet the current and emerging needs of students and industry
  • Proven ability to develop strategies to increase revenue via commercial, profile and government funded activities
  • Experience in leading and coordinating complex business development activity such as submissions and tenders
  • Experience in contributing to the development of strategic planning
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills with the proven ability to provide leadership to a team
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Working with Children Check or current VIT registration
  • Police Check
A demonstrated ability in the implementation of successful new products, services and educational delivery methodologies along with a higher teaching qualification would be considered advantageous.
