Organisation Overview
The core function of Carbal Medical Centre is to provide medical services to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people through two medical practices and 13 community programs.  Covering the regions of Darling Downs, Southern Downs and Goondiwindi, this position would be based in Toowoomba.
Position Overview
The Child Health Nurse and / or Midwife position is critical to increasing access to antenatal and post-natal care for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families.  This includes coordination of care, service
delivery, stakeholder engagement, home visits and monitoring client engagement within the health sector. In this position you have the opportunity of becoming the team leader.

  • Current registration with AHPRA. This is a mandatory requirement of the position;

  • Knowledge with working with children and families through their antenatal and postnatal journeys;
  • Strong written and oral interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated effective organisational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines and manage competing priorities within a small team environment.
