Challenge Employment & Training,Manager - Labour Market Programs



Challenge Employment and Training Ltd is an established Not For profit RTO, delivering training  and Labour Market Programs from multiple sites across South East Queensland. 
Challenge has a strong history in delivering pre-employment training, working with industry professionals and delivering community based projects across South East Queensland. We pride ourselves on delivering tenable structured training with industry engagement and strive to support jobseekers to achieve their career goals.
The newly created role  will hold overall
 responsibility for the coordination of Challenge Employment and Training's Labour Market Program operations – (Transition to Work Program and Work for the Dole Group projects and others implemented from time to time);

Person Specification
1. Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business management, Training, Social Science etc. or a relevant area or significant equivalent experience.
2. Knowledge and/or Experience
  • Demonstrated successful track record in a similar role.
  • Labour Market Program management and coordination
  • Knowledge of State and Commonwealth government funding relating to not for profit organisations
  • Extensive experience with the utilisation of Accredited Training as a means of intervention as well as skill acquisition
  • Extensive experience with long term unemployed clients;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of industrial democracy, equal employment opportunity and occupational health and safety.
3. Technical and Business Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to liaise and negotiate at high levels and with a diversity of agencies regarding labour market program issues relevant to Challenge operations;
  • In depth understanding of vocational training industry and Federal and State employment services;
  • Ability to assist in the formulation and implementation of policy;
  • Strong and demonstrated financial skills;
  • Ability to provide consistent, high quality management input into the Labour Market Division on a daily basis;
  • Ability to manage the Division so that it consistently achieves its objectives
