An exciting opportunity exists with the UTS Faculty of Design, Architecture & Building for a Senior Academic Programs Officer, Admissions and Course Management. In this position, you will be responsible for providing high level administrative support for Faculty courses and subjects to ensure the efficient operation of the Faculty.
Detailed Description
Through research, education and engagement with the professions, the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building aims to contribute to the transformation of urban life and the built environment. With an annual enrolment of over 2,300 full-time students, our engagement extends across areas suc
h as fashion, spatial design, product design, visual communications, animation, photography situated media, architecture, property development, construction and project management. The Faculty is recognised internationally for its leadership in these disciplines.
The position operates under the broad direction of the Academic Programs Manager and is located in a centralised administrative support unit for the Faculty. The Unit provides support to the Faculty Executive, Heads of School, Course Directors and the academic staff.
In this role you will have core responsibility for:

  • implementing, reviewing and maintaining curriculum data such as courses, subjects, availabilities, course structures and study packages and ensure they are set up correctly on University systems;
  • coordinating the processing of applications including receiving, recording and distributing applications to relevant academic staff for assessment;
  • being the primary contact for escalated issues relating to applications and enrolments;
  • coordinating annual review of selection criteria for admission to courses;
  • assisting in calculation of prizes, resolving enrolment issues and supporting the course accreditation process.
To achieve success in this role you will have:

  • demonstrated ability to execute complex tasks with a keen attention to detail, especially while under pressure;
  • demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, and in particular the ability to respond effectively to unforeseen situations with a high level of integrity, assertiveness and application of judgement;
  • a proven capacity to interpret complex policies and procedures;
  • demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work and manage multiple or conflicting deadlines;
  • excellent computer skills, including the use of common office software packages (including Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel) and ability to rapidly learn unfamiliar systems;
  • proven ability to work with limited supervision;
  • high level interpersonal and written communication skills;
  • proven ability to build relationships and positive rapport with a range of stakeholders;
  • knowledge of university policies and procedures;
  • knowledge of Admissions, Course & Subject Management;
  • tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent professional experience in administration;
  • demonstrated experience with student administration in a tertiary education institution; and
  • extensive experience in the use of student-related databases or similar to produce reports and enter and manipulate data.

Remuneration
Salary Range: $74,264 to $80,409 pa (HEW 6)
The university offers 17% employer provided superannuation. This appointment will be on a continuing full-time basis.
