Victoria University,Convention Centre Assistant Jobs in Australia

HEW 3, $48,051-$53,052 per annum plus employer superannuation contribution. This is a full time ( 36.75 hours per week) fixed term until April 2017.
About the Role
The Convention Centre Assistant will provide high-quality reception and a range of customer assistance services to both existing and potential clients of Victoria University's Convention Centres.  This role require
s flexibility to work some evening and weekends.
About the Person
Ideally you will have 4-5 years' experience in hospitality and front of house. You will be highly organised with well-developed communication skills, both oral and written, and a track record of providing superior customer service.  Able to work co-operatively as part of a team as well as independently, you will be confident in using the Microsoft suite of applications and will enjoy the opportunity to expand your horizons by learning the University's online Finance and Event management systems.
An example of duties you may perform will include:
  • Provide general support to staff within the department including word processing, filing, setting up meetings, answering straightforward inquiries, printing reports (e.g. General Ledger and Outstanding Debtor) and directing others to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provide quoting for simple/basic catering events by following set procedures. More complex events are to be forwarded to the Convention Centre Supervisor. Perform offsite/site inspections to ensure there is adequate room to set up the catering order.
  • Assist in Finance Processes such as the raising of Debtor Invoices, Sending Client Invoices to Accounts for payment and answering basic Supplier invoice enquiries.
