An established retailer enjoying continued success and growth across the country, are executing planned growth, with roll out of new stores, as well as re-fitting of existing.  An excellent opportunity is now open in their store development team for you to make a real impact utilising your skills and
knowledge of Retail Store Design, embracing the responsibility delivering visually appealing stores which are highly functional and within the prescribed budget and timeframe.

The working environment is dynamic and fast-paced, focused on results and achievement is recognised and rewarded with excellent opportunities for career progression.  This position will be responsible for planning, documentation and coordinating the opening or refurbishment of new/existing stores via company processes and procedures.  Reporting to the Store Design Manager, some of the key tasks and responsibilities include:
  • Mediate and manage communication between various parties involved in the process: Retail Design Managers, Centre Managers, Project Managers, Development, Operations, Legal teams and Shopfitters.
  • Evaluate prospective sites reviewing prospective leases from a design perspective.
  • Conceptualize and creatively explore the brands and develop new concepts and evolve the current ensuring.
  • Create mock ups and relevant coloured representations for all stores.
  • Detailing and drafting. Create full drawing packages to be issued for tender, construction and approvals for each new or refurbished store.
  • Create specification documents which encompass all construction standards to be met by the shopfitter
  • Establish and issue documents outlining all relevant hand over and completion dates
  • Manage the team Project Coordinator to ensure all administration, equipment orders and payments are controlled
  • Conduct site surveys and site assessments
  • Complete defects reports and ensure rectification is completed
You will be a proven Retail Design professional with a strong creative flair, a relevant Bachelor Degree and interior design and project management experience from the retail environment.  You will have strong knowledge of BCA and base building requirements in relation to retail food outlets and highly proficient in AutoCAD and the Adobe Suite package.  You will have the ability to work on multiple jobs at once with emotional resilience and the ability to handle pressure are essential, as is a strong commercial understanding and a focus on the best outcomes for the business and project stakeholders.
