Department Of Communications And The Arts,Childrens eSafety Commissioner Jobs in Australia

The Australian Government is inviting applications from individuals who have the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to undertake the role of Children’s eSafety Commissioner.

The Office of the Children’s eSafety Comm
issioner commenced operation on 1 July 2015 to, among other things:

  • Provide a national leadership role in improving online safety for Australian children; and
  • Resolve complaints about cyberbullying of Australian children by administering a scheme for the rapid removal of cyberbullying material from large social media sites, and a cyberbullying civil notice regime.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated high-level leadership and vision, and a record of effective advocacy on relevant policy issues, including strong media management and public communication skills. The successful candidate will have strong familiarity with social media products and services and other consumer services provided over the internet. Experience with communications sector public policy issues and experience participating in or engaging closely with the internet industry is critical. The successful candidate will be capable of engaging with key online safety stakeholders, including State and Territory police and other law enforcement officials. Experience in complaints handling or customer service processes is also highly desirable.

The position may be located in Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne.

Total Remuneration for this position as determined by the Remuneration Tribunal is $332,800 with a base salary of $242,950.
