The Company
Our client is a privately owned retail group whose authentic and innovative services provide significant wellness and health to its clientele. With a retail store footprint of approximately 25 stores located within many of Victoria’s most prominent shopping centres, our client is embarking on a growth strategy across its three complementary businesses.
Aligned to increasing market share and enhancing the customer experience in this increasingly competitive market segment, the business has created a new role for a General Manager to join its leadership team and drive growth.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for driving the strategic execution of the retail operations strategy, continue to grow the brand profile in the marketplace and ensure the financial and operational performance of the business is market leading.
Your role will have strategic and operational oversight over the Retail Operations, Marketing and Finance functions of this growing enterprise. Your diverse stakeholders will include the Managing Director, Areas and Store Managers, Finance Manager and the Marketing Manager.
Specifically, your remit will span :
• Manage the Retail Operations Strategy for the entire business
• Championing a high performance culture by continuing to mantain high standards and ensure hiring of new fit the organsiational culture
• Setting the brands strategic direction
• Lead the strategic execution of day to day retail operations across a 25 store network in Melbourne
• Grow the retail channel
• Develop relationships with existing and potential Shopping Centres
• Responsibility for the financial performance
• Building the company's image and increasing brand profile
• Planning and directing the activities of all the staff and ensuring all staff are motivated to attain their assigned targets.
Your Profile
A well rounded leader, you will have broad management and leadership experience within retail, hospitality or service related industries. You will be skilled at leading cross functional teams and have a commercial aptitude and track record of delivering results. You will be a communicator & negotiator with the ability to influence and work well with stakeholders across Retail, Operations, Head Office and other third party relationships. Experience in new store openings and building strong in-store teams would also be viewed favourably.
It will be strongly advantageous that you can speak Mandarin in addition to English
