SkillsIQ is a Skills Service Organisation that supports a range of Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) to develop training packages that meet current and future skills needs. We are looking to recruit a Training Package Advisor to be the first point of contact to respond to stakeholder enquiries around training products and the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sect
or. The role is also responsible for uploading relevant materials to the Commonwealth Repository (VETNET) and the website via the Training Package Content Management System (TPCMS) as required.
This position is a full time role based in the Sydney CBD. Reporting to the General Manager, your responsibilities include:
  • Correctly interpret training package requirements to respond to stakeholder enquiries
  • Record details of stakeholder enquiries in relation to training packages overseen by SkillsIQ and respond promptly, providing accurate and appropriate information, or escalate/forward details to relevant staff for actioning
  • Maintain SkillsIQ Training Package Issues Register, ensuring all issues are recorded accurately, responded to appropriately, with outcomes and follow up documented and recorded
  • Mapping of training package content and compilation of relevant information to assist IRCs in formulating and progressing training package workplans
  • Accessing and interpreting vocational education statistics through the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) VOCSTATS portal and compiling tailored reports as required
  • Upload relevant materials as directed by the General Manager into VETNET in the appropriate format
  • Ensure all training package materials are prepared for upload to the website in the required format, with a high degree of accuracy and completing all necessary checks prior to upload
  • Upload all relevant materials to the website using TPCMS, in a manner that complies with Commonwealth requirements
  • Provide information as required for inclusion on the SkillsIQ website, in the monthly SkillsIQ newsletter, regular State Training Authority Newsletters and other internal and external publications as required
Selection Criteria
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • A strong understanding of the Australian VET sector
  • Experience in interpreting training package requirements
  • Knowledge of training package development policy and process, including the QA framework
  • Proficiency in use of the Training Package Content Management System
  • Strong administrative, organisational and self-management skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise and schedule work to meet deadlines
  • Task oriented approach, with the ability to take direction and flexibility to adapt to change
  • Strong record keeping and data entry skills
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office software applications (including Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel and Project).
