Aeronaut Automation,Technical Support and Installation Technician for Computerised Textile Cutters



To apply for this position you must have a sound knowledge of computer software and hardware, some mechanical aptitude and basic electronics. You'll need to be a good problem solver with attention to detail. Training in our unique fabric cutting systems will be provided.
Our customers are fabricating products su
ch as marquees, window furnishings, yacht sails, Mars lander parachutes and leather belts for mine workers and much more.
Your main role is to install new systems on site and train customers in the software and system operation. This involves building the vacuum table and installing the cutting system. This normally involves two people over three days, followed by two more days of commissioning and training of the customer. 
Additional responsibilities consist of servicing existing installations, trouble shooting, diagnosing electrical and or mechanical problems on site and sorting out computer, software and networking problems. All this with the assistance of the factory staff. 
Duties include:
  • Installation and commissioning of new systems
  • Servicing existing systems
  • Writing up service reports
  • Providing technical support via phone and email
  • Spare parts
  • In-house servicing
  • Testing new systems prior to despatch
  • Test cutting fabric samples
  • Software testing
  • Maning the support desk
Traveling interstate will be an important part of this position, averaging one to two weeks per month (Mon to Fri.) International travel may be required from time to time.
You will need good communication and customer service skills, along with a fairly high level of technical know-how to be an affective service technician. We are looking for that special someone who can be depended upon to get the job done.
Experience or qualifications in a related technical field an advantage. You will also need strong spoken and written English skills.
This is a high energy role, requiring management of your travel itinerary and time efficiently. You will work autonomously at times and as part of a team at others.
