Chef and restaurateur David Thompson, renowned as a world authority on Thai food, is bringing his Long Chim Thai street food restaurant to Melbourne. Opening in early January 2017 we are searching for hospitality professionals to join our Pre-opening team in late November.
A career at Long Chim will place you in a demanding, world-class culinary environment; a restaurant where much is expected and everyone will have the opportunity to excel.  As a pre-opening member of staff, you will have the opportunity to work directly with David and his executive team and learn best in class techniques.

To be considered for this position you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and professional behaviours:
  • Minimum 12 months experience in your current role as a Cook or Commis 
  • Passion and experience preparing Thai cuisine
  • Lead in the delivery of Exceptional Standards and Outstanding Service
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, confidence in your ability and decision making
  • Experience in a variety of sections with significant experience in Thai Cuisine
  • Passion for the industry is a must and continuous thirst for knowledge
  • Excellent communication and culinery skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to promote a positive work environment
  • Ability to speak a second language either Thai, Cantonese, Vietnamese or Mandarin is advantageous
  • Understanding of food safety standards and HACCP and maintain high and consistent standards
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Proactively assume additional responsibilities 
  • Able to work a rotating 24 hour / 7 day per week roster, including public holidays
