of troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical devices and should have experience in technical electronics repair.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
In this role you will provide support to Operations through the maintenance of tape drives and associated computer systems and network infrastructure. The role works with both local and international management and staff to ensure the required systems are available for the work being performed. Great organisational ability, a high level of attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, a natural curiosity and a desire to learn are also required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform both preventative and break-fix maintenance on the tape drives deployed at the site.
  • Inspect, test, and document the condition of the tape system spares at the site.
  • Manage and maintain hardware tracking to know how many of which type of tape drive and system is available to Operations or in other states of repair.
  • Run, Trace, remove network cabling from roofs, walls, racks, etc.
  • Conduct tape changes for the IBM tape libraries as needed and manage the shipping of offsite DR tapes and receiving of new storage tapes.
  • Provide basic LAN, Windows user and Linux system builds and support
  • Perform basic facilities maintenance tasks such as lights, air conditioner, security system, UPS, etc.
Skills Required:
  • Proficiency in the troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical devices, network components, and repair of Windows and Linux PCs and Servers.
  • Ability to read electronics schematics to trace signal paths and diagnose faulty components
  • Proficiency with a soldering iron to perform electronic component replacement of older equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a small, diverse, team
  • Familiarity with MS Excel and MS Word
Required Education and Experience
  • Minimum 1-3 years of electro-mechanical hardware support experience
  • Technical qualification in electronics repair or equivalent experience
  • Experience in repairing tape drives a plus
  • Knowledge or experience in Oil and Gas Exploration highly valued
